FCLB Awards Crown Annual Conference
In presenting the award to Elliott, FCLB President Dr. David E. Brown noted, "With a diverse background in professional management, his keen attention to detail has elevated both the expectations and the performance of the regulatory world. He is a man you can depend on." Faced with a potentially debilitating illness at a young age, it was a chiropractor who literally commanded him to rise up out of his bed and be healed. It was his subsequent return to health over the next year that inspired his brothers to pursue their professional degrees as doctors of chiropractic: Dr. Shelby Elliott, the President of Texas Chiropractic College and Dr. Orbie Elliott, a retired chiropractor residing in Olathe, Kansas. Over the past 15 years he has doubled the size of the NBCE operation, expanding its testing services in Parts III & IV. In addition to an extended cadre of consultants, test committee volunteers, and test site administrators, he manages a professional staff of 35 people. Now in its 9th year, the Arvidson award recognizes individual sacrifice and contribution to chiropractic regulation. Past recipients have included Drs. Ken Padgett, Edwin P. Devereaux, Peter D. Ferguson, Daniel Saint-Germain, co-winners Frank G. Hideg, Jr. and Paul M. Tullio, D. Brent Owens, Rex Wright, and initial recipient Mr. Donald M. Petersen, Jr. |

Citing
his exceptional personal and professional ethics, the Federation of Chiropractic
Licensing Boards presented its highest honor, the George W. Arvidson Award, to
Horace C. Elliott, executive director of the National Board of Chiropractic
Examiners.
