NEW TASK FORCE: QUALIFICATIONS TO PERFORM SPINAL MANIPULATION

FCLB President Dr. Wayne C. Wolfson has appointed a work group to investigate qualifications to perform spinal manipulation. The results of this study are expected to be available to the membership at the 2002 Chicago annual conference. Task force members include Drs. Oliver "Bud" Smith (TX) - chair, Richard L. Cole (TN) and N. Edwin Weathersby (AZ).

HISTORY PROJECT UNDERWAY

A special surprise was the unsolicited gift by NCMIC of a compilation of our history as a federation, to be complete in the next two years. Noted historian Dr. Joe Keating has been hired by NCMIC to complete the project, and has spent considerable time already poring through old FCLB documents and interviewing past leaders.

Please help with the FCLB history project! If you have any documents or suggestions of people to interview, please contact our Greeley executive offices. The more input we have from our family, the better this priceless document will be!

CONTINUING EDUCATION: CENTRALIZED CATEGORIZATION SYSTEM

The Continuing Education Task Force is most excited by our survey, which indicated overwhelming support by stakeholders for a centralized CE approval system.

Designed to add to, not replace, the existing system of board approval, the system will eventually:

  • Categorize & approve educational programs

  • Verify instructor credentials

  • Host CE attendance records for individual DC's

It is expected this will occur in several stages with plenty of time for boards to make necessary changes in statutes and/or rules. Boards would retain the option of approving programs individually as well.
