RE: FCLB working with State Associations for
PACE
Dear Friends,
It has been a pleasure for us to work with the
leadership of COCSA to engage in productive dialogue regarding the PACE
program for centralized approval of some CE courses.
Our member licensing boards have requested this service
to help reduce their overwhelming workload, and program providers have asked
for uniform approval criteria and a streamlined application process for
relicensure credits. After five years of development, PACE is scheduled to
begin taking applications this spring.
We are very appreciative of the many excellent and
constructive recommendations for program improvements we have received from
all areas of the profession.
We are enclosing our most recent letter to COCSA
president, Dr. Kevin Donovan, who responded this week expressing
appreciation to the Federation for our professional and cooperative
outreach.
I would also like to publicly thank Dr. Laurel Cowie of
Nova Scotia, who has served PACE since its inception in both development and
now by spearheading our educational outreach. She did a fabulous job
presenting to the COCSA annual conference in November, and has done much to
allay the natural concerns people have when confronted with change.
Please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of
our board or staff if you have any ideas concerning the PACE program.
Rick
