Bill Steinmiller is the owner and operator of Prairie Star Information Technology. Prairie Star was formed in 1998 in order to provide software and systems development services for the health care industry and businesses of all sizes and types.

Prairie Star is located in Greeley, Colorado with a goal to bring information technology services expertise, of the type that is normally found only in lager cities, to Northern Colorado, Southern Wyoming, and Western Nebraska.

Bill is a native of Colorado and has worked in information technology and health care for close to 20 years. He has served in senior positions for, and developed information systems for Kaiser Permanente, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, HMO Colorado, The Colorado Foundation for Medical Care, Caravel Systems, Colorado personalized Education For Physicians, Ischemia Technologies, and the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards.

He has served in a variety of positions over the years, starting as a computer operator, and moving to programmer/analyst, project leader, programming manager, IT director, chief operating officer, and VP, information technology. Bill has developed health care billing systems for physicians and hospitals, managed care administration systems, a geographically distributed appointment system, medical review software for state and federal governmental agencies, long-term care review software, clinical health care quality improvement software, project control software, various accounting software, and a church management and administration system.
