is a board member of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. In 1998, Dr. Ferguson campaigned for United States Congress, 16th District of Ohio and received 65,000 votes losing the seat to a 26-year Republican incumbent in Ohio. He is one of five chiropractic members of the Congressional Oversight Committee: Chiropractic Health Care Demonstration Project of the United States Department of Defense. He served as Chairman of the Executive Board of Directors for the FCLB from 1992 to 1997; Commission on Accreditation / Board of Directors - CCE 1989- 90 and again from 1992 to 1995; and Ohio State Board of Chiropractic Examiners 1984 to 1992, where he was President seven of the eight years on the board. Dr. Ferguson has also been active in numerous other organizations in the medical, political, academic, professional, and community arena.

Dr. Ferguson is the distinguished recipient of numerous awards for outstanding achievement and is a noted lecturer. He gave the 1997 Janse Lecture at the FCLB Annual Conference.
