They say it can be done
And then they do it.
This year's FCLB award for outstanding chiropractic regulatory board has broken new ground in a number of significant areas.
Their board members and staff regularly serve as presenters in our FCLB educational forums, and give generously of their time for committee service and special projects.
The board and staff researched, authored, and had introduced landmark legislation, which among provisions included greater mobility for qualified practitioners, supports appropriate treatment programs for chemically dependent practitioner, adopted Part IV (Four) of the NBCE exams, and added significant new tools to the board's regulatory option; including expanded options sanctions.
One of the most exciting innovations was to clearly define statutory doctor/patient privilege that did not previously exist.
This legislation has been "Field tested" and is fully expected to pass later this year, marking the first comprehensive review of the Chiropractic Practice Act in nearly 25 years.
