ACBA Annual Meeting
Joan Carl, FCLB staff member and former Marylander (Marylandian?), recommends Lexington Market. She tells us the two must-visit places there are Faidley Seafood (for the lump crab cakes) and Berger's Bakery (for the cookies).
Julie Finn, FCLB staffer and native Marylander (Marylandan?), leads the cheer for Maryland Blue crab from Obrycki's and for Berger's famous cookies.
When in Baltimore, she likes to visit the Hard Rock Cafe, Sabatino's in Little Italy, and anywhere Cal Ripken, Jr. is rumored to have been spotted.
Julie also advises that you make time to check out the Hippodrome (AKA France-Merrick Performing Arts Center) which will be playing a run of the Phantom of the Opera during our visit.
Finally, when Julie returns home for a visit, she always makes a special trip down to the Inner Harbor to try on crab hats.
We've asked for recommendations from our own small stable of Marylanders (Marylandites?) and collected them for your trip planning.
Dr. Marc Gamerman is a past president of the Maryland Board and the FCLB District III Alternate Director. Below is his list of restaurants to try. You may want to plan a few extra days and bring your elastic-waisted pants.
When Dr. Gamerman recommended this place, we looked it up online. We saw a flamingo with a beehive hairdo and looked no further.
