Joseph d'Oronzio, PhD, MPH, principal of The Ethics Group, LLC

More than ten years ago, a group of medical ethicists developed an intensive educational intervention program known as ProBE (Professional/Problem Based Ethics), focused on healthcare practitioners who were under discipline by their respective licensing boards. The program consists of intensive discussions, lectures and presentations dealing with the integrity of the clinician-patient relationship, boundary issues and accountability in the health care professions.

Participants are required to conduct a self assessment of the issues surrounding the board action in conjunction
with the intervention. The program has been a useful remedial tool for licensing boards in more than thirty states. Dr. d'Oronzio, our featured speaker, is a member of clinical faculty of the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University and an ethics consultant to several hospitals and medical schools, and is a recognized author and lecturer on biomedical ethics and public policy.
