DESCRIBE
THREE (3) OF THE MOST IMPORTANT
EVENTS/
ACHIEVEMENTS/CHANGES YOUR BOARD HAS ACCOMPLISHED THIS PAST YEAR.
1) Regular Session, 2001 Act 197 was signed into law by Governor Mike Huckabee. This Act now gives authority to the Board to prosecute effectively those who are practicing or attempting to practice chiropractic without a license and to impose civil penalties. This legislation was the culmination of successful efforts of all groups involved the Arkansas Chiropractic Society, the Arkansas Chiropractic Association and the Board of Examiners.
2) The undertaking of rewriting the X-Ray Interpretation test for our licensure examination. Also, now we have X-Ray Illuminators for applicants taking the test to view original x-rays on the illuminators, which has enhanced the testing process.
3) On September 18, 2001 the Board of Examiners included Ethyl Chloride and Fluori-Methane Sprays as part of chiropractic scope of practice and they are classified as a device. The devise is to be used only by the chiropractic physician licensed by state law for direct physicians use.
What
difficult challenges does your board currently face?
Ř Stopping the unprofessional practices of some licensee’s that make direct contact with prospective patients before thirty (30) days after an auto accident, either by in-person or live telephone communication (telemarketing), when a significant communication or contact is for pecuniary gain.
Ř Revising the Rules, Regulations and Statutes.
Name one way the FCLB has helped you achieve
a board goal within the last year.
